Compliance is an ongoing process and poses many obstacles in particular in critical countries. It is important that the process is well and systematically managed. At Panalpina many compliance topics are centrally managed which includes the systematic analysis of risks, detailed on-site analysis, definition of corrective measures and thorough control mechanisms.
It has been communicated throughout our Organization that there is “zero tolerance” for any deviation of our Code of Conduct. Panalpina takes all cases very seriously, imposing penalties that include dismissal.
At the same time Panalpina encourages its employees to speak up about breaches of any of the compliance policies or other illegal practices and report these either to the country management or to the corporate compliance office directly.
